September 2012: Congratulations to Tommy Alexander for winning the CCA Matagorda Chapter Guides Cup fishing tournament.  Tommy weighed in 30 lbs. 7 oz. which is the heaviest stringer ever in the Matagorda Guides Cup history.

Hey all, Capt. Kevin Cochran has finished a new book, and it’s been ordered, printed and shipped! They will be ready for shipment on Tuesday the 31st, according to Kevin.

The book is called “Productive Places and Patterns“. It documents and describes places Kevin has fished and patterns he used in those places over the years, all the way from Port Mansfield to Sabine Lake. It’s 102 pages, and includes an introduction, conclusion and a “list of truths”, in addition to chapters on Windward Shorelines, Leeward Shorelines for both cold and warm weather, Open-water Humps, Lakes and Coves, Major Reefs, Ship-channel Spoils, Spoils on the ICW, Dead-end Guts and Channels and Mid-bay areas. Included are 10 Google Earth images which help clarify the locations of some of the places.

Price is $23.95, which covers cost, tax and shipping.

Kevin created buttons for ordering the book on both his websites, www.CaptainKevBlogs.com and www.FishBaffinBay.com. On CaptainKevBlogs.com, the button appears on the Products page, which is accessed by clicking on the words in the picture below the main banner on the home page. He also created a new Combo, available only on that site.
