Default Texas open beaches....

Okay, I know I am a newbie here and some may take offense at this but I am not a happy camper. I'm a Texan born and raised and have been fishing or enjoying Texas beaches since I was a small kid. I'm 53 now and am very dismayed at what I see in our wonderful state as a take over by developers with local and state law makers capitulation of our Texas beaches.

Case in point. I travel a lot and had not been down to the Galveston beaches for some time. I was horrified to see all the post and no trespassing signs on beaches that we use to have full access to. What the heck happened and who let it happen?

I'm looking for organizations that are opposed to this and have struck out the internet. Please someone refer me to an organization(s) that are doing something legislatively, opening protesting, or getting in the face of the perpetrators of this outright confiscation of public beaches.

Not only do I want to get involved, I am willing to put my time, effort, and little money I have to help in anyway I can for the citizens of this great state to stop this travesty!

Thank you,

Warren A. Dennis

Default Toba

I'm not sure what happended to their old website.

We had some great fundraisers in the past. A good friend of mine lost many things due to his fight to open our beaches.

And yes, it's a shame that money can take away our freedoms.

I've thought along those lines but need to get my self up to snuff on what has transpired already.

beaches are owned by the state and not citizens. posted signs can be replaced on the dune line (property) but not on the beach. this is why houses are torn down and the state reclaims the property. dunes back (grass line) is the rule. my opinnion no one i do not care how rich you are should be able to build within 1/8th mile from a beach. these beaches are ours and should not be (JUST BECAUSE A BUCK CAN BE MADE) developed

Default not private property

Cougman, I'm with ya bud.. our beaches and most waterways are property of "all" the citizens of Texas.. public, not private property..
