No, have you? I'm sure there's some point to the question.

As with any extreme light weight rod, some break on fish, most break by human error.

This is my first laguna. Still going strong..LOL

i was hoping to get heavy laguna users feed back. we being me and a few friends have bought about 30. we have broken many in the last couple years. 6 in one two month period. just curious we are seasoned experts and do not break rods. my question stands and is for curiosity purposes. have you had any breakage? Was the rod replaced?

i've seen 4 break and know of a 5th. rods were replaced/repaired and sent back... it just took them a long time to do it. last time i talked to danny, he mentioned that they were selling the business to someone is georgetown.

Bought two in January of last year, by the end of summer both had snapped on me while fighting a bull reds on East cut. Upset, threw them both away, never again.. Went back to Castaway, have never had them snap or break on me.

Default laguna

Jeff and I have sold our business. That being said, I have enjoyed building rods. To the breakage issue being discussed, we have not seen an increase. When Shikari sold to Bob Loomis the blanks were not the same. The blanks we use for our extreme is the lightest we have ever used. Some of them have broke. That stuff will happen as they are not ugly sticks. In the event of a break we have always done what we could to satisfy the customer. We have seen it all. I even had a customer tell me of a faulty blank on a 5 year old rod. When I asked how it broke he told me that he was doing battle with a red that swam through his legs. Not faulty but I still took care of that customer. I will tell you that the rod industry is certainly a strange one. Rods break if they are not taken care of. How often do you guys see boats being trailored at 70 mph with rods in rods holders? That invites one air-bourne bug to hit the blank compromising its integrity. I am just saying that the rods we built are of the highest quality. We were some of the only builders that took pride in using all American made blanks. They are more expensive but still much more sensitive than the blanks made over seas with lesser quality materials.
Thanks to everyone who ever purchased a rod from us. We greatly appreciate the business. We have also developed some great friendships with lots of our customers. Thanks again to all.

Danny
